🌿 September at Anita’s Gardens:
September is here, and with it comes cooler breezes, new beginnings, and plenty of joyful moments at Anita’s Gardens. From special theme days to Packers watch parties, our residents enjoyed a month filled with laughter, creativity, and togetherness. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights that made September so special.
🎶 Music, Movement & Creativity
We celebrated Classical Music Month with a variety of music-inspired activities, from sing-alongs and live performances to music trivia and themed BINGO. Residents also stayed active with daily exercise favorites like Tai Chi, Disco Exercise, and Chair Yoga, while creative clubs like Floral Club, Baking Club, and Art Like Van Gogh gave everyone a chance to express themselves.
🎉 National Assisted Living Week
One of the biggest highlights was National Assisted Living Week (September 7–13). Each day carried a fun theme—from Pajama Day and Jersey Day to Western Day and Crazy Hat Day—creating smiles, laughter, and plenty of photo-worthy moments. Special events included the Senior Olympics, a Western Party, and a Sip & Paint afternoon. It was a wonderful way to honor the vibrant spirit of our community and the dedicated caregivers who make it all possible.
🏈 Packers Spirit & Community Gatherings
Fall in Wisconsin means football season, and our residents came together for Packers watch parties, complete with snacks, camaraderie, and plenty of team spirit. Between games, we also hosted support groups, devotional gatherings, and resident clubs, ensuring there was something meaningful for everyone to take part in.
🐾 Visits, Outings & Special Guests
From the weekly visits with Bella the Dog to a heartwarming appearance by Sawdust the Horse, our animal visitors brought comfort and joy. Outings like the Thrift Store trip and guest music performances added extra sparkle to the month, while the Girl Scout visit reminded us of the importance of intergenerational connection.
🍂 Seasonal Joy & Everyday Moments
As summer turned to fall, we celebrated the first days of the new season with fall crafts, afternoon walks, and a festive Fall Ball. Whether enjoying a milkshake social, pirate-themed trivia on Talk Like a Pirate Day, or simply sipping coffee on National Coffee Day, September was full of both big events and small everyday joys.
💜 A Culture of Caring
At Anita’s Gardens, every activity is more than just a way to pass the time—it’s an opportunity to connect, share, and celebrate life together. September was another reminder of the richness of community life, and we’re excited to carry this momentum into October.
